In wet weather, dirty composite post insulators are prone to flashover discharge, so they must be cleaned to restore the original insulation level. General areas shall be cleaned once a year, and polluted areas shall be cleaned twice a year (once before fog season).
1. There are two methods of charged water flushing, large water flushing and small water flushing. The flushing water, the effective length of the operating rod and the distance between the person and the live part must meet the requirements of the industry regulations.
2. Power failure cleaning means that after the power failure of the line, the workers climb the pole and wipe it with a rag. If it cannot be cleaned, it can be cleaned with wet cloth or detergent. If it cannot be cleaned, replace the insulator or replace the composite insulator.
3. In general, cleaning without power failure is to wipe the insulator on the running line with an insulating rod equipped with a brush or tied with cotton yarn. The electrical performance and effective length of the insulating rod used and the distance between the person and the live part shall comply with the provisions of the corresponding voltage level. Special personnel must be assigned to monitor the operation.
