An excellent arrester insulator has a discharge gap and a zinc oxide arrester element manufactured in the insulator body, which includes a discharge electrode in the insulator body. The discharge gap is composed of a heat-resistant protrusion in the insulator body and surrounding the discharge electrode. A pair of metal plates or conductive ceramic plates clamp the protrusion from both sides and electrically connect to the discharge electrode, The pair of plates are connected and hermetically sealed by relative protrusions through inorganic glass.
Under the condition that the lightning protection components are not reliably sealed, the lightning protection components can be reduced and the lightning protection components can be formed under the normal power supply structure, and then the lightning protection components with high voltage can be eliminated.
