No thermal stability check is required for prop insulators. This is because there is only one point of connection between the pillar insulator and the heating wire, and in general, the short circuit current of 35KV distribution is not large, and the heat from short circuit will not affect the mechanical performance of the insulator, because most of the pillar insulators are porcelain, and the instantaneous high temperature has little influence on the insulation performance.
Pillar insulator is a kind of insulator used for pole and high voltage wire connecting tower hanging a lot of suspension, can increase the creepage distance, at present, it mainly plays two roles, namely support wire and prevent the current back to the ground.
The two functions of pillar insulators mentioned above must be guaranteed. The insulators should not fail due to flashover breakdown caused by changes in environmental and electrical load conditions. Otherwise, the insulators will lose their function, which will damage the service and operating life of the whole line.
